14TH FEBRUARY 2015 // INSPIRATION THIS WEEK
MAKEUP ART, NYFW 2015
Makeup is always one of my favorite parts of Fashion Week. It’s that tiny detail that accentuates the entire concept the model is wearing, and it is a whole extra aspect that we get to explore and discover when we see photographs online (or in person, if you are a lucky motherfucker), and we get inspiration for our own faces in return. The picture above is from Versace’s SS 14 show, but I am presenting it here because it is one of my favorites. After seeing this makeup, I was inspired to incorporate more gold into my makeup, as I learned that I like the way it looks with my skin (note: See wording. I like the way it looks. Don’t worry about outside opinions. If YOU like it, wear it). Make sure to check out what’s going on in New York this week under #nyfw and get some makeup-inspiration.
MINIMALIST SEPTUM JEWELRY
My favorite thing about creating my looks is that I get to incorporate body jewelry into my concepts. I feel that this makes me stand out as a blogger (how many modified bloggers do you see out there?), and it adds a whole extra layer of fun into creating my outfits every day. I just changed to a closed, infinite ring for my nose this week, and I want to buy loads more in the future. I just want a whole dish of them! If you are a part of the septum party, definitely check out BVLA – it is literally the nicest, most minimalist jewelry you can find out there and it is such great quality.
ION PRO WOODEN TURNTABLE
I need to upgrade my turntable so badly. I bought mine a handful of years ago off of Amazon, and I ended up rigging it with a few different cables to connect to my speakers and actually have a wall plug. That’s right: my turntable didn’t even plug into the wall. It was meant for mp3 conversion. It also ruined a couple of my records. Pro tip? Don’t fucking do this. Take care of your vinyl. I have my eye on the turntable that I included in this post because it matches the aesthetic of the rest of my home, and it is of exponentially better quality. This is not something you cheap out on, and I have learned my lesson.
HERSCHEL DUFFEL BAG IN BLACK
Legitimately, I have been staring at this bag for three months.
That is all.
BEAUTIFUL PARISIAN APARTMENTS
I spent my Valentine’s Day torturing myself by looking at beautiful refurbished apartments by a company called A + B KASHA. They are all in Paris, and if you are looking for some home inspiration, this is definitely something to look at. They are beautiful and have the essentials that I want for my future home (you know, when I totally have money, right?) : big windows, wooden floors, and WHITE EVERYWHERE. Put this shit on your Pinterest. Or do what I do and stare at it for forever. It is motivational.
