I don’t know about all of you, but my skin is especially sensitive to changes in weather. I’ve told you all about how Dr. Jart Micro Milk Peel has been my saving grace in the past, and it still helps with the dry summer weather for staying exfoliated and clear. However, I found that for the summer months, I needed a light, gentle routine for my face with all-natural ingredients, as well as natural oils to keep my face and body hydrated and glowing.
These amazing products from Peet Rivko make up their essentials kit — with a cleanser, moisturizer, and face oil. Everything is natural with ingredients coming from sources such as green tea, aloe, and prickly pear oil. Aubrey Plaza happens to be a fan of these folks, so obviously they are doing something right. The cleanser is great for eliminating dirt and excess oil from the face and works as a daily light cleanser. I love the moisturizer because it is also lightweight, but just half a pump moisturizes my face and neck! However, the face oil was my very favorite — I just put a couple drops on my fingers and massage it into my face and I have a summery glow all fucking day.
Now, I have always had problematic legs. They have been itchy and dry since I was a little kid and I scratch the living hell out of them. As a result, I have to constantly exfoliate and moisturize them for even a hint of relief. This is something that bums me out to this day because it feels really detrimental to my femininity – I don’t really get to be sleek and perfect and delicate. This oil from Liha beauty brings me so much more confidence. You can use this oil on your face, hair, and body, and I like to apply it to my body and legs after shaving to soften and moisturize the skin, as well as leave me with a healthy glow. Two POC women own Liha, and all of their goods are cold-pressed by using a fusion of rural British and African methods and all-natural ingredients. I highly suggest purchasing their goods and supporting businesswomen of color — you’re not only doing amazing things to your skin, but you’re doing amazing things to support these women’s excellence.
These have been my favorites for summertime! Be sure to follow along on Instagram for more!
Until next post. xx
