I firmly believe that my passion for personal style began in a Goodwill. Almost every day after school when I was a teenager, my best friend and I would walk a few blocks over and comb through the racks. We were awestruck by the different colors and textures and cuts of vintage dresses that appeared untouched for years before making its way onto a discount rack, the smell of dust stale and stagnant in the air around it. The inspiration just waiting to meet my eager hands was seemingly endless. Vintage already had a very important role in my life too, as my mom has always collected amazing furniture and homewares from estate sales and antique shops (or, as we called it, “the treasure store”).
Fast-forward to nowadays, and the majority of my closet is vintage that I’ve collected over the years. I always receive such sweet messages from y’all on my Instagram asking where I find things, and I am excited to share one of my favorite vintage sellers, Omnia Clothing, captained by one of my favorite people, Naomi Bergknoff, whom I met at the Brooklyn Flea shortly after moving to NYC and frequenting her booth.
Naomi has curated so many amazing pieces (her brightly lit studio in Brooklyn is floor-to-ceiling racks of high-quality vintage glory) and I have had the privilege of putting together a little capsule collection for y’all to shop! The best part: everything is under $100 and with free shipping.
For fall, I’m obsessed with cable knits, wool, alligator, knee-high boots, long camel coats, midi skirts, and beige corduroy, all of which you can find in this capsule. One of my favorite pieces is this vintage Madewell skirt, which I feel they could have produced yesterday and it would blend perfectly with current trends.
I just love how everything looks together on the rack as well — it’s always important to me to have a coherent and curated closet because mixing and matching is easier and you get the most out of owning less, but higher-quality items.
Check out the entire collection on Omnia’s site here and support by shopping small!
Until next post xx
